Christians are not better people than non-Christians. Any good works we do are simply through the power and grace of God shown through His love by bringing the Holy Spirit into our lives.
The main difference, is when all is said and done, those who have Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior will be saved from condemnation.

There are consequences ... unavoidable consequences ... attached to every sin ... which cannot be ignored or eliminated.
Eternal damnation may be avoided through faith in Christ, but the effect of war, crime, lust, greed, and other sins is cumulative, and exacts a great penalty on the whole world.
The consequences of sin won't be eliminated until the age to come, when Satan, death, and sin will no longer exist, and everything will be renovated and restored, solely by the power of God.

Formula for Personal Growth
James 1:22-25
God was gracious enough to provide us a sure formula for personal spiritual growth: Instruction plus involvement equals spiritual growth.
James tells us that the first step is to be an effective, involved listener of the Word. If we just read the Bible or listen to a sermon and do not concentrate on the material, or if we allow ourselves to be distracted, then we are not absorbing the instruction God intends for us. There are two kinds of listeners, one who is careless and one who is intent and attentive.
However, instruction alone does not grow the Christian. Unfortunately, many believers mistakenly assume that more factual knowledge of the Bible equals more intimate knowledge of God and His ways.
The only way to grow spiritually is to make the truth you learn your very own, to grasp it and apply it to your life. You are to become a doer of the Word.
Jesus involved Himself in the lives of people, from the "elite" to the most despised and rejected sinners. We are to use Him as our model as we love others (the Great Commandment), witness to others (the Great Commission), and serve others (the Great Commitment).
All believers have the life of Christ living within them through the Holy Spirit. And remember, Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
.Fully Alive
Colossians 2:9-17
When you become a new creature in Christ Jesus, sin no longer has to be a part of your life. But why do believers still sin?
Once we receive God’s forgiveness for our lives, we are crucified with Christ. Paul writes: "I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God…" (Galatians 2:20).
However, we still have a human body, which has God-given appetites that desire to be fulfilled.
When the enemy taints these appetites, luring us outside the boundaries God has drawn for us, our actions to fulfill these desires are sins.
The real question is this: when you step beyond those bounds, do you feel comfortable?
We should never feel comfortable sinning. Paul certainly didn’t as he wrote, "For what I am doing, I do not understand; for I am not practicing what I would like to do, but I am doing the very thing I hate" (Romans 7:15).
It’s the new nature – God’s nature – in us calling us back to our heavenly Father. If you are a Christian, just because you sin against God doesn’t mean you have a sinful nature.
When you learn to yield to the urgings of your new nature, sin in your life begins to diminish as you walk in the freedom of Christ.

the Christian is subject to the same laws rules and mores of their society just like non - Christians. the Christians are not only to obey GOD'S laws but also the Laws of GOD. when and if the two conflict the Christian has an obligation to place GOD'S laws first and do their best to change mans law to follow GOD'S law. after performing a sin and gaining forgiveness one should not commit the sin again

Nobody becomes a better person by committing a sin.
Romans, chapter 6 verse 23
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

I do not think that a Christian becomes a better person when he sins. Moreover, I think that God does not intent to shape His people by means of their sinning
Now, it is true that God forgives almost all sins that we truly repent for, but...... the long-range fruit of evil must be reaped. Paul wrote to the Galatians: "Do not be deceived" (Galatians 6:7a RSV), that is, don't kid yourself about this and don't let anyone else kid you about it. "God is not mocked" (Galatians 6:7b RSV), i.e., God is utterly faithful to himself, he is utterly dependable in what he says he will do. "Whatsoever a man sows, that shall he also reap. If he sows to the flesh, he will of the flesh reap corruption" (death, emptiness, frustration, boredom, evil), (Galatians 6:7c-8a). "But if he sows to the Spirit," he shall likewise reap a crop, the quality of life that is eternal -- "eternal life," (Galatians 6:8b). That is what could be called “the law of inevitable consequences”. When we sin, even though our relationship to God is restored in forgiveness (since we repent), and God promises to go with us through all the results that will follow, nevertheless, these results will still follow. Certain aspects of sin can be changed, but not all. Because God is a moral governor as well as a loving Father, certain results must be allowed to continue to establish and vindicate God's righteousness.

sins though may be forgiven by God so you may spend your eternity w/ him but it can have a consequensces here on earth while you are living, that is because we have earthly laws & we are responsible for all the actions we did especially if its agaisnt the law.

Christians do not become better or superior. Just the way they act should be different.

Dear, the point is that you must seek out the will of God and do as he commands you. God wants to be our friend but He also wants us to do His will. Seek the things of God and accept Jesus' sacrifice and that will be enough.
