Really wouldn't recommend it, but i suppose we all try it, me most often than not, especially with the girls.

If you got long hair best results we brush the hair and put it into a very VERY neat pony tail and cut the end of the pony tail. so when you let it down after you have cut it this gives the effect of a feathered look.

If you just want to shape, hold the hair in between your fingers and cut very finely into the hair, but you must have a good eye for this , because if you dont, as you move down your hair it might look a bit wonky.

Hope this helps.

but i would still suggest a hairdresser as these tips are for people who do like to try and know they are quite artistic.

You can cut your fringe and sides with sharp hairdressing scissors, wet your hair and comb it down then pick up the fringe and cut into it rather than straight across. When it comes to the back get a friend to help you. Good luck.

I was going to suggest clippers, that's how we manage, I saved loads of money over the last 6 years, you could try gathering it up in a squdgy thing and chop off the end, then wear a hat.

well depends if you hair is long or short if long get your mate to cut the back straight for you and your best of doing it when its wet or just been washed as you can get it straighter if short then just trim the ends and make sure everything is the same length not unless you are going for sumthin outragous

Get your hands on a haircut kit. Breville used to/still does make them. I am not sure who else makes them. You get the proper scissors, combs, and of course the electronic razor that you see hairdressers use. I have one, and if you have someone do it for you it is easy. Doing it by yourself, takes three times longer. Trust me, I know, I tried the electronic razor on myself. Took ages to get my hair right. Get someone to do it for you, but not a hairdresser. There is not point paying for a haircut when you can do it yourself, sort of.

Bit of a risk if you don't know what you are doing. Go carefully because although hair grows, do you want to walk around with a bad haircut while it grows out?

Place a pudding basin on your head and cut round it with sharp scissors.

get a pair of scissors hold them in your hand grab hair open scissors...snip,snip...all done....oh if youre left handed though make sure you get left handed scissors though...that'll just make it that bit less wonky...oh or you could try putting long scissors on the end of your fingers, like Edward Scissorhands...he wasn't too bad a hairdresser, could be your best shot...good luck ;0)
