I found my allergies went away when I gave up diet cola. The aspartame (also known as acesulfide - K or acesulfide - Potassium) was causing it.

I was terribly allergic to cats - would get asthma and itchy eyes from being in the same room as them. I was also allergic to ragweed - also causing asthma. I took allergy shots for 3 years, and it has made a huge difference in my life. I no longer even sneeze at ragweed time, and my allergies to cats have diminished to the point I can be in the same room as them - but I still can't touch them. It's unlikely that you should ever own a cat, as they are highly allergenic -- release a lot of dander. My allergist told me that if you must have a pet get a small dog. I got a standard poodle (a huge dog) and have never had a problem. Good luck - there is hope to having pets.

I am a true believer in shots. When I was a child I had severe allergies to everything. Trees, grass, ragweed, dogs cats... etc..
I had shots for 5 yrs every Tues.
As an adult I have very few days of allergies.I even live with a dog and I am fine. I say stick with it. You will not regret.

Allergy shots are more for airborne allergies and things that you really cant avoid. The response to the body is individual and can t be predicted. In general, they help people and that is a reason to consider them.

I had allergy shots for nine years. It helped my pollen allergies tremendously and my allergy to raw fruits and vegetables went away after having shots for five years. I used to be allergic to smell of skunk (it would make me break out in hives and get laringitis) and that also went away. It took over two years for me to be able to tell any improvement.

I had one year where my allergies took off and I had to get the injections you are referring to. My doctor told me after the second one that he had to stop because they are not very good for me. The shots also thin your blood stream, perhaps a second opinion is warranted. I use the nasal spray and the pills once and a while.

I took the images for an similar issues, dogs, cats, and so on... My reactions to the images were through far worse than basically having the allergies. i end and basically take care of the allergies. i bypass via alot of benadryl, zyrtec, and singulair!
