We pray to God through Jesus. Jesus is not God he is the Son of God. Jesus wasn't created Jesus was there in the beginning too. He just didnt have the name Jesus.

Jesus is God's Son that is the truth. But Father, Son, Holy Spirit are all the Spirit of God. That is why it is the Trinity - God in three persons. All three God but all three having different purposes.
God the Father - Creator
Jesus - God in the flesh, Savior
Holy Spirit - Comforter, God in us (when salvation occurs)
Like - water, ice, steam - all same but different.
Really it is a mystery - but by faith believe. It is a choice to believe the Bible and Jesus Christ. Start reading in the book of John and read with eyes and need to be opened spiritually - Jesus Christ is waiting for you.

God did not create Jesus. Jesus was with God before the Beginning.

It's proper to ask God for forgiveness through Christ Jesus.
We ask God for forgiveness, but Christ is our mediator.
No one gets to the Father except through him.
You are correct that God created Jesus. That's why he is called the 'first creation', or the 'the beginning of the creation of God'. After that, all things was created through Jesus.
Joh 1:2 He was in the beginning with God.
Joh 1:3 All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made.

We pray to God the Father in the name of (by the authority of) Jesus Christ, in the power of The Holy Spirit.
If we sin, this creates a "wall" between God the Father and us, so we pray to Jesus for forgiveness. This is because he is the one who took our sins and allowed Himself to be punished for them.
(Check the New Testament. All prayers are to God the Father with 1, possibly 2 exceptions. One is a prayer to The Sovereign Lord, and Simon Magus is told to pray to Jesus for forgiveness).
By the way, Jesus wasn't chosen by God, Jesus is God and has existed since before creation. All things were created by Him and through Him and for Him.

Because Jesus is God and vice versa.
Matthew 3:16 (Whole Chapter)
As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and lighting on him.

As I learned it, Jesus is an intermediary--he is the one who takes your prayers to God. Essentially, one is technically praying to God, but due to the nature of the trinity...it doesn't much matter. Each is an aspect of God.

God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Jesus was God Incarnate, Immanuel means God with us.
The Nicene Creed
We believe in one God,
the Father, the Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
of all that is, seen and unseen.
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ,
the only Son of God,
eternally begotten of the Father,
God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made,
of one Being with the Father.
Through him all things were made.
For us and for our salvation
he came down from heaven:
by the power of the Holy Spirit
he became incarnate from the Virgin Mary,
and was made man.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate;
he suffered death and was buried.
On the third day he rose again
in accordance with the Scriptures;
he ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead,
and his kingdom will have no end.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son.
With the Father and the Son he is worshiped and glorified.
He has spoken through the Prophets.
We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church.
We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
We look for the resurrection of the dead,
and the life of the world to come. Amen

My opinion would be that god send Jesus to set and example for us and he passed all temptation and remain faithful to the word of god until death,That's why he came back to life 3 days later as promised by god. So in order to get to god's kingdom you have go threw Jesus because he has become our savior because he can save us from our sin's because he understands life on the planet as a human being because that's what he was on this planet humans.he lived all the pain, suffering, betrayed, temptation, anger sadness happiness childhood work, etc.
and passed it all proved that we can pass the test as humans as he did. you will need Jesus for this because you want to pass just like him to reach god there for you must go threw him. Its like all things a vice president & a president a football player and a coach a manager or a home owner you need to learn from one to reach the other.. thats my opinion
