I have a list of lots of numbers and i need to find the group that add up to approx 50k. i am sure i have heard that there is a function that can find the combinations that add up to the total but i have no idea how to do it!! am ideas would be greatly appreciated!

This type of problem is a huge task due to the number of results which are possible. However, there is a solution which has been found using VBA in Excel. It is a very complicated procedure but it can be found at http://www.mrexcel.com/. If you click on challenge of the month and then past challenges, there is one called Accounts Receivable Challenge. This provides a solution.

I'd be suprised because there can potentially be numerous if not infinite results.
