The variation of human languages is a continuous or sudden process arised from barbel tower?

But why we can observe language variation caused by demographic factors in a short period of time? For example, Singlish is a variation of english created by Singaporeans in a few decades.

Languages did not originate with the Tower of Babel nor with the tower of Pizza.

Languages evolved over time. English is part of trhe Indo-European group of languages.
