DUI ended Oct./06. Plans to travel to Thailand and Brunei in December. Has not applied for a Canadian pardon but has applied for passport. No other criminal record.

I'm Canuck, but no record. As long as you get the passport, you won't have any problems leaving. The airlines won't know anything, so won't hold you back. There are so many criminal types from Europe in Thailand, I doubt that Thailand really cares much as long as Canada gives you the right to travel by virtue of your passport.

The US could be another story, since they share computer access with Canadian police.

It wont affect Thailand or Brunei.
I doubt if it will affect leaving Canada.
