My friends have been on these tablets and not one has lost any weight, the best thing I found was to exercise and eat healthily, there is no quick fix to losing weigh and the wrong pills and diet can even make you pile on the pounds. I make sure I eat 5 portions of fruit and vegetables each day, make sure I get a hours exercise either walking, tae-bo(boxing and karate) , swimming and dance. I lost two stone doing this, I am still losing and have toned up my body, my friends however have just realised the pills don't work.

Over the counter (OTC) diet pills are considered as food supplements, and their use is unregulated. However, these are very popular and people continue to use them without considering the adverse side effects. Prescription diet pills are useful for severe obesity problems. These pills are regulated and their side effects are monitored. Some of these pills are Meridia (Sibutramine), Xenical (Orlistat), Adipex, Bontril, Didrex, Phentermine and Tenuate. Xenical is a lipase inhibitor, decreasing fat absorption by 30% resulting in a lower calorie intake. These pills will not be effective for losing weight , if a conventional weight loss plan is also not followed. More information available at http://www.toloseweight.org/weightlosspill.html

The best tablets Ive used are Hoodia. They are a natural appetite suppressant. You can get them form Holland&Barrett or Healthy Direct. i used them for the first month of my diet and they helped me loads. To help me lose that last half a stone i used Phase 2. Its a kidney bean extract and stopps the absorption of starch from the carbs you eat. You dont even have to diet for these to work. i Used to weigh 14st now i weigh 9st. Remeber that you need to do plenty of exercise as well. Good luck xx

Mustard is a secret bulge-buster. This boosts your metabolism and boosts natural ephadrine, the hormone of which burns fat. According to Jeya Holly, professor of human nutrition with Oxford Brookes University, just a tablespoon inside your food can reduce a flabby waist by 20 per cent!

They would be good for losing a quick couple of pounds as they are water tablets. Unfortunately, all the weight lost is water and you would put it back on in a day or two.

Fatty coconut milk: Believe it or not, it contains good fats which can be important for keeping your metabolism ticking. One meal, like any delicious Thai green curry, can certainly increase your metabolism by 5 per cent, says research published in the actual International Journal of Obesity.

People who plan their weekly meals tend to be successful at losing weight than people who don’t. Plan your dishes to add healthy carbs such as nice potato and wholegrain pasta, greens and lean proteins, buy the many ingredients in advance and don’t be tempted to enjoy out or order in.
