concubines...In certain societies, such as imperial China, a woman contracted to a man as a secondary wife, often having few legal rights and low social status.
Anyhow, concubines was legal and acceptable either in law or by people's conception.
Nowadays we just take mistress as the substitute for concubine.. but it's against law, except in Muslim country.

Well, concubines are the official names for the multiple wives of the Emperor. And since there are no more Emperors ruling China, concubines no longer exist. As for the public, I'm sure there are unfaithful husbands as there are in every country of the world. They are socially unaccepted and still regarded as a taboo.

Yes, but mistresses rather than concubines. Many old/middle-aged Hong Kong men are having a young mistress in China.
