You can't have good nutrition without eating some animal products. Plants just do not contain enough protein for a healthful diet. Think of babies that get breast fed. A mothers milk is high in protein.
I believe Americans have an obesity problem because of the type of meat we eat. Most of the meat on the market contains some sort of growth hormone which in turn I believe makes it in to our bodies. We in return become as fat as these animals were meant to be. Couple that with HUGE portions offered at most restaurants and voila you get a rampant obesity epidemic.
Healthy dieting should include a variety of foods. Including grains, protein, and vegetables/fruits.

There is nothing wrong with eating meat...
In fact the human body is designed to be omnivorous (to eat both plants and meat).
If you don't believe me, then just open your mouth and take a look at your teeth, those are not the teeth of one designed to chomp leaves all day.
The problem is not the fact that we eat meat, but that we eat way too much of it.
While you can be vegetarian and still have a balanced diet, you an also eat meat and do the same, as always you just need to be aware of what you are eating and try and keep the fat and junk to a minimum.

Humans are omnivores, i.e. we have evolved to eat both meat and vegetable matter. The best balanced diets include the nutrients of meat.
It is easy to maintain a prefectly healthy omniverous diet, obesity is not an issue related to meat eating, but stems from poor diet and laziness.

Well, I'd probably be a vegetarian if it weren't for bacon and sausage being so darn tasty. But I've been trying to make the switch to textured vegetable protein that can be made to taste like any of various meats. I'm not much of a beef eater at all, but give me a BLT and I'm a happy camper.
As the bumper sticker says, if we aren't supposed to eat animals, why are they made of meat? :-)

If God didnt want us to have the knowledge to do a lot of things we do, he wouldnt let it be. He gave us this specific level of intelligence to learn survival...We're animals just like the ones that walk on 4 feet, it's a cycle of life. This is why our teeth are shaped to be both plant and meat eaters. That's the right that we have.

Because they like it. People are in the habit of eating meat and they're not going to give it up. anyway, it's just so pervasive that now, most resturaunts serve it in almost every dish.
Say, are you a vegetarian? If so, then I seriously admire you. I'm still in the habit of eating things that move and have brains.

They eat it just for sake of it, it many western countries children learn to eat meat from there parents and so on, they don't see harm in it. but, killing another person for your food it not the expresssion i support. But, When i think of it, Plants are also living things, and yes vegetables are far more good in nutritions than meat..

Once you cultivate a taste for non-veg foods it is very difficult to resist. In the food-cycle god has allotted veg-food for humans. Some veggies avoid even onions which is a close relative of meat.

Because God FIRST gave us the ability to hunt and eat meat -- Long before we developed the ability to prepare soy so that it tasted like meat. Do you honestly believe that our nation is overweight because we eat meat? I've read the fat content on some of those meat substitutes and frankly, I think your logic may be a bit flawed. My guess: it's those duchess potatoes that accompany that cut of beef that adds to our girth. :-)

Yeah, it's called the food chain. I know that we don't NEED to eat meat to live, infact we could live without it. But food is to be enjoyed. Also you have to eat more vegetables etc to obtain the same nutritional satisfaction that you would recive from meat. It's arrogance yes, but it's called life.
