I need to start cooking it in 2 hours, and my mom won't be up by then!
Thanks! And Happy Canadian Thanksgiving to you!

Now I'm (even more) confused: the butcher put the giblets in right before my eyes, so they never were "frozen in". I'm thinking it wasn't really frozen at all, just cold. I don't see actual ice anywhere.
(Turkeys are a bit unknown here in Switzerland.)

Unwrap it and see if the bag of giblets will come out. If not, then it is still frozen. If that's the case, you simply have to wait.

Whatever you do, DO NOT attempt to cook it until there is absolutely no sign of ice in the bird.

check the giblets in the turkey cavity and remove them, if easily removed obviously not frozen, also another way to check is to see if the turkey legs move freely, if they do then its not frozen if you leave the bird covered at room temperature at least for an hour and the legs move freely then i would say it would be okay to cook.
