I just can't get enough. I put 3 hot sauces on my pizza or rice, I love eating chilis... could this be an addiction? I don't smoke, but I HAVE to have my food hot. Maybe a nutrition thing? My husband thinks it is crazy that the hot sauce disappears so fast...

Im sure you can get addicted to spicy food.
For one, it does get your blood pumping, kind of a small adrenaline rush....thats why people get addicted to doing alot of activities that have similar side effects.
Another thought, maybe your tastebuds are abnormally weak (non-sensitive) or maybe they've been dulled by all the prior hot sauce (haha), but quite possibly your food just doesnt taste as good (or doesnt taste at all) without the hot sauce.
In general though, it wouldnt be a problem, psychologically, until it is affecting your day to day life. Just like people who are afraid to leave their house are affected day to day, or alcoholics who need to drink every day are affected day to day. For you, I'd say that until you're putting a second mortgage on your house to support your hot sauce addiction you'll probably be all right.

I wouldn't worry about it. Hot chilis are good for you. A lot of people put ketchup and/or mustard on everything. Same thing. Very harmless.

If you are addicted than I am too. Chilies are healthy and it's a lot better than being addicted to crack.

i addicted spicy food also, 3 times a week, it's pretty healty food.

psychological addiction can happen with almost anything...so its all in your head if you are addicted
