I drive 5 hours to visit a zoo, spend the day there, then turn around and drive back home.

It doesn't sound crazy to me. Why would it be crazy to visit a zoo just because it isn't around the corner. Let's see, that's like living in LA and going to San Diego to see their zoo. Sounds like a really nice way to spend the day to me. Stop worrying and have fun. You haven't done anything weird.

Mate.....you are not alone....I do and I act the same way with the diference that I don't drive to go to the zoo.
I go to another kind of zoo. It is called "City".
I get a corner and watch people passing by.
I watch their faces, the way they walk, the way they move and the grims they have in their faces.
I don't think that I am the only one that does this thing.
Am I crazy?????
Ok.... I may be. But at least I am at the right "place". "Side" is the better definition.
"Mental Institution" is written outside of every such an institution.:)

What's crazy about that? I once drove 6 hours just to pick up a puppy that I had gotten for myself for a christmas/birthday present. We got lost 4 times before we even got to Amish country, but it was still fun. Some of the scenery was amazing. As long as you had a good time, so what?

There are much crazier ways to spend the day and the time than going to a zoo and if you enjoyed it and it made you happy it wasn't crazy at all. If it made you feel good it was a blessing

No matter what you do..if u have fun doing it and spent a good time...Which i guess you did then it is completely sane....do what your heart and mind says and don't bother so much about the world...Life is too short to be worried about what others think or say!
