Some of the people here are so ignorant. How can you come here and say "if they are in another country they shouldn't"? Thats like saying if you go to an Islamic country you should. YOU AREN'T GOING TO ARE YOU? Don't be so blindly ignorant.
They cover thier faces out of respect for their God, and they cover it out of respect for their family, and the sacredity of their culture.
Don't judge them because of it. I live in the Middle East and the women wearing their abayas (the robes) are very sweet, and are often nicer than most other people i have ever met. Also, it is not a requirement that they wear the Veil, they do it out of respect. They have the right to do so, as you have the right to wear mini-skirts and shorts anywhere you go.

In Islam the mature woman must cover her hair to protect her self, but wearing a veils is an act of people who are so religious.
as an answer, No.
Islam doesn't require the woman to wear Veils but she must wear alheejab to protect her self...
many people who don't agree, ask them why, they say cause we can't see her beauty, so they can't think in her like sex, so The hejab did his job and protected the woman.
Many Muslim woman's don't wear al hejab cause wearing alhejab is not an obligation, it's an option, but anyway the quraan was clear and told the woman to wear descent cloths in public that's doesn't motivate men to think sexually.
Plus Wearing a cover on hair, is not something new...
It's in Jewish and Christianity...they invented Alheejab = Cover...it's not the problem of Muslim if the Christians left their religion and become like non believers, they talk about Christianity, and hell no they are not even close to be...

Muslim women should have the right to wear or NOT to wear the veil. The choice should not be forced on them.

No. covering the bodies and faces with a black cloth is a cultural thing not a religious one. Islam only allows women and men to cover their privates with a modest dressing -- something not displaying their privates and not provocative. well muslim women cover their bodies just like Maryam does -- the key word is modesty. i mean its funny when people say that we cover to hide bombs in them. and there are those that say -- that we are opressed. but they fail to recognise that all great women from Mary to Kiran Bedi -- cover themselves modestly. people say we do it for the fear of men and death -- wrong -- we do it for the Love of our God.
some women do not wear the Hijab at all, some only cover their hair, while there are women who cover everything except hands and face, and yet again are women who cover even their face. as Prophet Muhammed-pbuh had said -- that TRUE HIJAB lies in UR HEART AND THOUGHTS. Muhammedpbuh's wives would wear Hijab and would even give sermons and Adahan -- call for prayer. this was to show that just because a woman covers herself up , she is in no way deprived of her desires and choices.
but the extent to which one covers herself -- also depends on soceities and culture. try visiting rural areas of Africa and India, where they cover their women with veil, inspite of the fact that they are not muslims. in conservative societies, people would rather not try to single out from the society.
when a woman is among other woman , she is usually free. they dont have to wear any Hijab but covering the hair and privates are a must. but u can uncover ur hands and feet until knee-length. well it is the same rule even in public baths -- where a woman should aleast cover until knee-length, but now many muslim women are quite free in presence of women with changing times. i mean even in presence of men, u still can find many women without hijab but with modest dress code..

in my view i hit upon the donning of the veil sinister and rude and could lots like it in the event that they did no longer positioned on it. yet I additionally locate the donning of little or no in any respect provocative and rude and would understand objections to that too. i'm hoping this debate ultimately leads directly to the much extra important subject of the indoctrination of harmless little ones into deluded non secular ideals. i at present attended a harvest competition social gathering at my sons' college the place a vicar instructed each and every of the little ones that "God made each and every of the little frogs and the cows and Adam and Eve and one and all human beings". It appalled me. I worry that those Islamic women human beings who positioned on the completed veil are many times the precise same little females who have been indoctrinated into chanting the Qur’an as quickly as they might walk, and the daughters of adult men who went by using an analogous technique. it quite is a component of their identity on account it is the way they have been programmed and what they have grown up believing. The veil is, as Jack Straw has suggested, a sparkling assertion of separation and difference which, in virtually each and every case, is a function of religion itself. it quite is the function of religion and it quite is propagation which could be examined and limited here, no longer in basic terms Moslem women human beings in specific or Islam frequently. we are all little ones of an evolutionary technique, no longer a ultimate being and, as an atheist humanist, i'm ill of being caught interior the crossfire between warring non secular communities. I even have the non-public compassion for everybody who has been indoctrinated formerly they had the adulthood and intelligence to paintings issues out for themselves and that i'm hoping, ultimately, they are going to see the gentle (which comes from the sunlight and not a God).

They should be allowed if they want to. I do, however, think they need to remove it for identification photos, and should be prepared to remove the face covering if they need to be identified for legal or security reasons. Covering the face is not required by Islam, but many women choose to, because of the additional privacy it provides.

I never seen a muslim woman in the U.S. wear a veil. I saw some in Syria and Egypt but non here in America. They might be afraid because people might call them terrorist and thats harsh.

How about all women wear the veil over their faces? Then they don't have to worry about impressing strange men, drying out their skin, and getting raped. And yes anyone who has enough sense to fear ALLAH and really wants to please ALLAH will cover their faces with veil.

it is a matter of choice. if they chose to cover their faces well thats their choice.
if they are forced to cover their faces thats wrong.
I am a muslim for 20 yrs and I know alot of ppl who keep their faces covered and it is their choice, not for their husbands.
the rest of the world wears what they want to wear (as little as it may be) and thats their choice, no-one finds that a problem.
hindus wear their turban,
nuns wear their scarfs,
priests wear their collars
choir/alter boys wear their costumes,
ppl wear religious chains around their neck etc, etc.
it is for religious reasons that they wear them.
yrs ago all women wore scarfs outside as part of religion.
ppl have changed, God will has not changed.
