Many new CDs feature copy control content, this means they are no longer actually CDs and shouldn't bair the compact disc CD logo.
The problem that due to the way DVD players work they may not be able to read them.

Probably because of the dirt or scratches on the surface of the disc, the solution for the former is to clean the disc with cotton cloth, the latter is harder to tackle, try to use toothpaste to smooth the surface

I think you need a lens cleaner disc. Although i had this problem and also discs jumping. All i could do was to bin the player and buy a new one.

often cds that are copied via a computer can only be played on a computer and not a cd player.

some brands (especially JVC) are very selective when it comes to playing cd's, especially CD+R, CD-R CD+RW & CD-RW - try a different brand of CD's - My Philips HD-DVD recorder has trouble with some DVD's even, which play fine on others...
or buy a Hiteker - cheap and it plays EVERYTHING!!!!
