My personal favorite is JL AUDIO. I have been running these Subs for years and have had no complaints. I am actually running two 15 inch W6 subs now that are over 8 years old and they still hit hard and clear. Hope I have been helpful.

First off there is no single best subwoofer beacuase if that was the case everyone would buy it. The answer to your question would really depend on budget, space, goal(sq,sql, spl?) and so forth. Also it would be impossible to know what a sub would sound like in your car because so many factor determine the final outcome of your setup. Also check out car audio forums for reviews on subs or ask. Some good brands to look into are Digital Designs(DD), FI audio, RE audio(resonant engineering), Ascendant audio(AA),Audioque and so many more. Oh yeah and to add to this JL is by no means the best. They offer good quality and a very high price. Anyone of those brands listed have products that can match and exceed JL for less money.

IMO Boston Acoustics G5 12" subwoofer. rms is only 450, which is good, cause you dont need a huge amp to push it. they are the best sounding sub i have ever heard. i got lucky to hear them against a w7, and a pair of w6's. they sounded better then both, but one G5 was not as loud as a w7. but it was more accurate, more crisp, and more clear bass. then the last best part is the price. there only $400. thats one hell of a sub, for not a lot of money.

I really like JL audio w6. Because they sound great.
I have also had hard hitting rockford fosgate. Cerwin always bumps. MTX can bump. Kicker hits hard.
JL sounds really good. Lot of subs boom but sound crappy.

First off NEVER go by peak since an audio system rarely hits peak. RMS watts is what the system can produce continuously.

Let your ears be the judge. I can't tell you what sounds good to you.

I WOULD GO FOR JL AUDIO W7'S. THEY ARE THE BEST SOUND SYSTEM OUT THERE. I KNOW IT COSTS A LIL TOO MUCH BUT HEY TRUST ME ITS WORTH IT. I MYSELF OWN 2 12'S W7. MY BASS CONTROLL IS LOW AND THEY STILL KNOCK SO HARD ! AND MAKE SURE ALSO HAVE THE JL AUDIO AMP FOR THE BADEST SOUND.
