Sabbath is a day of rest from work. 6 days we work but take rest on the Sabbath.
In today's context, many of us still got to work on Sun because of our nature of work. As such, Sabbath can be any other day of the week that we do not have to work.
Let's not forget the reason behind God's purpose for Sabbath: it's for us to rest (because our bodies need it) and spend time with Him.

The sabbath is the seventh day of the week so it is Saturday. It is the old testement that demands Hebrews to keep the sabbath holy.
Sunday is the first day of the week and if you read the book of Acts you will find that it was on the first day of the week that Christians came together to break bread and to pray.

The Jews observe Sabbath from Friday sunset to Saturday sunset. It is a perpetual covenant for the people of Israel - a day of rest and worship of God.
Christians are not under Mosaic law and esteems Sunday as a day of rest and to worship God. some Christian groups do honor Sabbath as the Jews observe.(Seventh day Adventist some Church of God)
Jesus said man was not made for Sabbath, but Sabbath was made for man. God rested after creating the world, so God instituted a day of rest for man to rest from his labors.

The sabbath was tied to the law, both of which were set aside at Jesus' resurrection. The sda CLAIMS that the catholics CHANGED the weekly assembly of Christians to Sunday, but history tells us otherwise.
From the beginning the church met on the first day of the week. Many Jewish Christians ALSO continued to participate in synagogue worship until they were kicked out of the synagogue.
Paul often did this in an effort to teach Jews about Jesus. For instance:
Acts 14:1 At Iconium, Paul and Barnabas went into the Jewish synagogue as usual. They spoke there with great power. Large numbers of Jews and non-Jews became believers. 2 But the Jews who refused to believe stirred up those who weren’t Jews. They poisoned their minds against the two men and the new believers.
Justin Martyr, 1st Apology, 156A.D. But Sunday is the day on which we all hold our common assembly, because it is the first day on which God, having wrought a change in the darkness and matter, made the world; and Jesus Christ our Saviour on the same day rose from the dead.
Tertullian, An answer to the Jews, c.200A.D. In fine, let him who contends that the Sabbath is still to be observed as a balm of salvation, and circumcision on the eighth day because of the threat of death, teach us that, for the time past, righteous men kept the Sabbath, or practised circumcision, and were thus rendered "friends of God."
The same writer's "Ad Nationes" says, "Others, with greater regard to good manners, it must be confessed, suppose that the sun is the god of the Christians... because we make Sunday a day of festivity..."
Justin Martyr and Tertullian were both living long before the claimed CHANGE, yet they clearly indicate Sunday as the day for Christyian assembly.
The law...
Ephesians 2:15 Through his body on the cross, Christ put an end to the law with all its commands and rules. He wanted to create one new group of people out of the two. He wanted to make peace between them.
Colossians 2:14 He wiped out the written Law with its rules. The Law was against us. It opposed us. He took it away and nailed it to the cross.
Galatians 2:16 We know that no one is made right with God by obeying the law. It is by believing in Jesus Christ. So we too have put our faith in Christ Jesus. That is so we can be made right with God by believing in Christ, not by obeying the law. No one can be made right with God by obeying the law.
Galatians 2:21 I do not get rid of the grace of God. What if a person could become right with God by obeying the law? Then Christ died for nothing!
Galatians 5:4 Some of you are trying to be made right with God by obeying the law. You have been separated from Christ. You have fallen away from God’s grace.
Matthew 5:17-18 Says Jesus didn't come to abolish the law but to fulfill it. It ALSO LOOKS FORWARD to the time when IT WOULD BE DESTROYED.
Matthew 5:17 “Do not think I have come to get rid of what is written in the Law or in the Prophets. I have not come to do that. Instead, I have come to give full meaning to what is written. 18 What I’m about to tell you is true. Heaven and earth will disappear before the smallest letter disappears from the Law. Not even the smallest stroke of a pen will disappear from the Law UNTIL EVERYTHING IS COMPLETED.
-- If the law were not to be set aside, the "until everything is completed" clause is meaningless.

Judaism and some sects of christianity celebrate the Sabbath on Friday sundown til saturday sundown.
thats just when its considered to be....
at least in my own head the logic has been that saturday is the end of the week, and sunday is the beginning of the week, so it makes sense for the day of rest to be at the end of the week.

Sabbath is a day of rest, set by God for the nation of Israel, as a day set apart (made holy) for God. Sabbath was particular to the nation of Israel, but since the law has been fulfilled, we worship God in a different way: not in a physical temple, but in the temple of our bodies. Thus, we worship God not one day a week, but every day, and continually keep ourselves holy, a living sacrafice to God. We have fellowship meetings on Sundays to remember what Jesus did on the cross, as he said of the breaking of the bread and drinking of the wine (communion): "do this in remembrance of me".

Jesus said the sabbath was made for MAN. A day of rest,
because man will work us to death.
People who hate on somebody over what day they observe the
sabbath on, haven't GOT A CLUE!
The Word says if one says, " He loves God, and hates a man,
that one is a LIAR!"
