I recommend that you make an appointment with a psychotherapist.

You have to consider the reasons why you feel this way. Are you insecure about your physical appearance or do you simply fear that you will embarass yourself? Are you clumsy perhaps or just socially inept and feel you don't know how to converse with people without sounding odd?. Once you find the source for your discomfort you may be able to do something about it. I watch people a lot, I too am very shy and there are times when I'm insecure, but always remember that most, if not all, people feel very similar. Most people are insecure and lack self confidence, there are just varying degrees. You have to hold your head up high and really not give a damn what others think...those who would judge you aren't worth knowing in the first place. One of my favourite sayings is 'people are people' listen to them, watch them, and you will eventually find that many are just as nervous as you...some are just better at hiding it. Everyone makes mistakes, and man I am clumsy too lol, but just having the ability to laugh at yourself will help. Try to use humour to ease the tension.

A lot of people are shy & lack self-confidence. You are not alone. If you want to change, there are a lot of books on building self-confidence. Learn to like yourself & believe in yourself. Stop thinking negatively. It's ok to be shy but don't let it stop you from living your life. It sounds like you have social anxiety. You could try seeing a counsellor to talk about your feelings. Don't feel guilty for little mistakes. You are your own worst enemy. Try to think positively. Don't beat yourself up. Start saying positive things about yourself. "I am ok. I'm a good person. It's ok to make mistakes! I am human. I am confident. I am happy. I can do anything." If you say these affirmations to yourself out loud you may eventually start to believe them.

Good luck.

Relax. Take deep breaths. Learn to love yourself. You are ok. Your only obstacle is you.

Dude, I used to be exactly like that.

I was told you are who you hang out with. Pretty much get one of your buddies, whose good with people/ladies.

ANd hang out, I used to be really awkward and then hangin out with him, I unknowingly changed, started talking and acting differently and girls/people picked up on it.

But trust me, don't change too much, gotta keep who you are.

and ya know, I still feel guilty after little mistakes haha.

this answer sounds simple but if you try it, it works.... Fake it til you make it.. start slow with little things, pretend they don't bother you, if you do this enough eventually they won't. Tell yourself that you don't care what other people think. Keep your chin up you can do it.
