If u are from Penang, get the Star paper on Fridays whereby in the centre page they have where to eat, a whole 3 full pages of the name of the restaurants and address, price, phone no, etc.

If you have a sweet tooth, why don't you try ching pu leang thang shui or ching pu leang dessert. Its a type of healthy dessert consisting of sweet potatoes, red beans, jelly, white fungus, sago, atapchi, longan, ginkgo, winter melon, rambutan and many more. There is a very famous stall called Mat Toh Yau ,opposite Jelutong Market. There is also a branch of Mat Toh Yau at Terengganu Road. For char koay teow, there's a stall along Chulia Street which uses distinctive narrower noodles than other vendors (forgot the name though). Hokkien Mee, a stall operates at Burmah Road/ Lorong Selamat with a branch located opposite Padang Brown along Perak Road. One stall at Macalister Road at Lorong Selamat is famous for using small mantis prawns. Loh Mee, located next to the Goddess of Mercy Temple. Chendol (a dessert with green noodles in coconut milk, brown sugar and shaved ice), a stall along the busy street of Penang Road near the "spider" pedestrian bridge leading to KOMTAR. These are all famous noteworthy stalls. To get all of this in one convenient place is Gurney Drive but the stalls there are of varying quality. It's just a TOURIST MAGNET for food lovers. One good tip is to look closely for stalls or restaurants packed with customers. This is an almost sure fire way to get good food which is worth waiting for.
