A brisk walk (brisk enough so that you cannot hold a normal conversation whilst walking) will use up around 200 cal per hour. So work out the total used from that. If you are doing it to help you lose weight (along with a healthy, portion contolled diet) I can highly recommend it. I was a couch potato until I started on a walking plan. Now I can walk up to 5 miles a day easily. I have also lost 4st and 10 inches off my waist. Not bad for a fat 45 year old :D lol

i dont know how much calories u will burn but if u r doing this for loosing weight then u must be crazy to do this. because it will make difference after some time. but its just a waist of time. just try to keep urself busy in life and try to have an active life. and doing some exercise for 20 min will be fine. however if u still like steps idea then couple of 100 will do for U.

and if u r an athlete then i dont have any answer for ur question.

I think your mind will tend to assume you re doing a lot of work. so you may not make this sustainable. You need to take it simple. Make a few exercises for 30 minutes 4 days a week, have 3 days of rest in a week.

Also if u want to lose wieght, change what you eac. Eat a lot natural fruits and avoid oily foods, like chips.

Make sure at night, eat 2hrs before you sleep.

Where you can walk, just walk instead of using a car.

In the buildings try not to use escalators and use stares.
Good luck my friend.

You'll burn about 200 calories per hour walking at 5kph.

You should search for calorie calculators or calorie expenditure charts to see how many you use for normal household activites - there are lots of them online.

At breakfast, go ahead and consume orange juice. But throughout the rest of the day, focus on water rather than juice or soda

That depends on how you take your steps. If you do them slowly on the level than not many If you do them running up a hill then a lot. It also depends on how much you weigh.
