I dont know but it seems kinda like if your a nice guy your getting used in the end right...a fallback plan? Why not just become a jerk and get the women early on? I always hear women say they dont want a jerk, but in reality they know they want that free, possible abusive (emphasis on possibly), ego filled, agressive type male..I have researched the characteristics of what attracts a good percentage of females to men and it seems like utter b*******. It always goes sour and the relationships end badly...and then us good guys are supposed to come in and clean up when we've been there all along?
Anyway do you think this is why most 'nice guys' are so hard to find...I mean looking at what the jerks have is enticing...why should we stick with being nice when it doesnt make us happy...why should we stay nice guys when you women dont give us the chance of day? Considering the 'real man' ends up becoming a jerk should we conform and save ourselves the hastle of wasting our time in wait

Another question...is it that women are constantly looking to change or fix flawed personalities is that why they tend to gravitate towards jerks more?

I'm scanning through qeustions now and it seems conflict and chaos is what attracts women...I mean the guy thats doesnt need fixing, whom is intelligent is cast aside...(well unless he's wealthy)...and they guy who cheats, lies, steals, or has other criminal actions in his record gets all the attention...and method to the madness there?

Ok first of all I only go for nice guys that I've known for over a year. Shayne is the best thing that has ever happened to me, He was there the night Shawn broke my heart, the one who was there in less then 5 minutes after I found out my Grandma died, the one who is always there when I need him most. that goes both ways if he calls me and says he needs someone to talk to, hang out with or just be there for a cuddle I am there.
The night that Shawn and I broke up I called him and he took me out for coffee then for a walk around our local park. we talked for like 5 hours, well I mostly talked he sat there and listened.
When my grandma died, I called and he was here really fast in fact what he did was dropped everything that he was doing and came right over. after sitting with me crying on him for 2 hours he took me out for some fun to try to distract me for a couple hours. 5 days later he got time off work and sat with me in the church for her funeral.
So not all girls go out with Jerks, I refuse to and so do all the girls that I know!!!

I don't know. Maybe it's b/c they don't figure out til later on in life that if a guys cheats on you or beats you he's not the one. As a 24 y.o. woman I find the concept easy but most women do not. Give me a nice guy anyday and I'll make him feel like a king.

Hey, i think you analysis applies to human in general. I took a evolutionary psychology class, and found out that the more we are being "tortured" or "abused", the more we will be attached to that person. That's why you see women don't leave their abusive husband. I think we have the trait in some way.

Because women think that jerks give them some sort of extra excitement, then get hurt and grow up and then go for a nice guy.
They think it is fun but it leaves scares.

look its not that we're attracted to jerks..it just seems like jerks fine us..you know...most girls like a bad boy....someone that can break the rules... give you an edge and keep you on your toes.... that's a risk we take.. we know.. that the guy is something that is not serious and that it won't last so he seek of a bad side.. to see at what point we can say no.... and please don't get me wrong there's nothing wrong with nice guys...but sometimes being to nice... can lose the effect of a guy really take in care of a girl and making her feel special...but dont' change be yourself if your a nice guy thats great......give it time and you'll meet mrs. right...:-) goodluck

If all you're worried about is getting girls, than are you really a nice guy? Or are you just trying to play from a different angle and now you're frustrated it didn't work? If you're to be that nice, than your concern should be more about being a friend and doing what you can to make them happy. Sometimes it sucks, but it's a whole lot better than turning into another arrogant prick and then someday wondering why you feel as though you're still doing something wrong. And not always will being a prick suddenly get you lots of women. Chill out, be yourself, be the best person you can be, and one day I'm sure you'll find a girl that was worth all this torture of watching pricks get girls.

Rather negitive point of veiw yu have there. ever thought that girls want a knight in shining armour to come along and show them what real love is..?
Some times you have to shift through the sh*t to find the gold...I'm still sifting but I'm sure to hit soild gold soon.

I'm a nice guy and i used to bang all types of girls when i was young. i didn't have to be a "fallback plan". maybe you need to change the caliber of women you try to get with.
