Just start with some small things and make it so you always put those things away when you are not immediately using them, even if you leave other things lying around. Then once you have mastered those things, move on to other things. That way you won't slip back into your old ways.

First of all don't label yourself so negatively. If you say bad things about yourself, it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. Don't believe the hype! You are not a complete slob. You just don't put things away all the time. Happens to most of us! The key is to just get into the habit of putting stuff away all the time. If you don't, then things accumulate until it's a huge overwhelming mess. If you put things away immediately then it never gets out of hand. Sometimes when I'm busy I don't have time to tidy up & things get messy. It bothers me. I love having everything tidy. Once you're in the habit of picking up, it has a domino effect & helps you organize your time & your life better. It's easier to find everything & you feel better.
Good luck.

Here's a thought: shut off your computer and go clean your place up. LONG TERM SOLUTION: start thinking of yourself as a man who can, not as a slob. Take just 30 minutes of every day, doing housecleaning hard and heavy. If you have a washer and dryer, then load them up and do some other cleaning while the machines are running through their cycles. Your biggest problem here is how you view yourself. You need a good kick in the butt for downgrading yourself.

Take the Homeopathic Remedy SULFUR 200 on alternative days once a day preferably first thing in the morning, SULFUR is perhaps the only remedy known to man which can actually cure Laziness and sloppiness. And it works without any side effects and does not causes any complications. :-) That is the best advice I can give follow it and you will start feeling very good fresh and active both mentally and physically.
Take care and God Bless you !

Perhaps you a visual person?
If you prefer to have your belongings within sight, then do so.
Extend your hanger space by giving up shelves. Get lots of hangers.
Put up pegs so that you can hang up your clothes on these instead of folding them and putting them away.
Put up color-coded bins (example: for laundry a blue bin for colored clothes and white bin for whites).
Get shoe racks.
Donate some things no longer used within 2 years or more. Too much possession can add to the clutter.
Get several accordion files. Label each slot with every month, put notes with the corresponding month (example: car payment: every 15th of the month); another set of accordion files should be labeled "to read", "to pay", "to file". Another set of accordion files should be where your papers go: credit card bills, medical records, school records, etc.
Your chequebook, pen, pencil, eraser, calculator, calendar should be close by so everything will be within easy reach.
Please try to attend to your files once a week.
We wish you well.

Really easy: get a maid. I'm a slob too, maids are great.
Housework is for girls, forget that crap that says go clean up and be a "can do" man and sh*t. Just get a maid. End of story.
