Did a god just simply make all the different dog breeds that humans have wanted so far? (Any why would that be an important human desire to grant...what of more important things?) Or COULD it be more like a form of evolution of dog species/breeds provoked by humans involving gene selection?

Also, in this way, HUMANS created types of animals that didn't yet exist... But if this evolution is not real, then creating things is only a god thing to do, right? Then that should not be possible, but it is!

*If it's complicated, pretend to bill me for the aspirin.

Humans breed dogs, their common ancestor is the wolf. Humans probably domesticated wolfs and over time and whatever environment and situation they were put under they changed. We still breed dogs for different jobs and skills.

Humans do the same thing through mutations like sickle cell, lactose tolerance etc...

If you want to learn about humans evolving learn about mutations, that is the closest thing to evolution but it's not true evolution it's just adaptation to ones environment.

Dog breeds are still the same basic animal, the selection of new breeds was done by people breeding dogs over generations, but this form of breeding does not include modification of the genetic code of dogs.
what is done by genetic engineering is modification of the genetic code of plants and animals, by introducing genes from other plants or animals and thus creating a species with characteristics that were not included in the original life form, say a cow that produces medicines, or a bacterium that collects gold.
the debate in the world today is can scientists do the same with humans, say introduce a gene that will make people resistant to cancer.
according to religious people that's creation.

Humans did not "create" animals that didn't exist. Humans selectively bred dogs for their qualities over generations and what came out were the innumerable different breeds we have today. I don't believe in intelligent design, but this isn't proof that it's wrong as humans have merely tinkered with what was already there.

Selective breeding is just a model of evolution. It has changed one species to another, although dogs can still hybridize with wolves.

With the mass of creationist illogic in the answers you have gotten I do need that aspirin.

Let me bring the story of the genesis eden to your question. It is what comes to mind.

That story is about humanity not eating an apple of original sin, so much as it is about humans taking responsibility for things in a way more similar to God. And God's responsibility.

It is about sharing responsibility with God. And the sense of shame we are vulnerable to when we take greater responsibility for things.

How responsible does it seem to you to breed a pedigree of dog that is so "cute" it has difficulty breathing properly through their squashed noses, for instance?

Just food for thought.

You can have the asprin back. I like your question. Thanks for the sentiment though.

there are two types of "evolution" horizontal which is within a species and is that of which you speak, and verticle which is a change in species which is completely theoretical and even if it ever did happen could have happened under supervision in a lab. So to recap there is no evidence that confirms vertical evolution and even if there was it may not have happened on earth yet.

If you are going to pretend you are smarter than christians you will have to do your homework better than you have and if you do that in a absolutely therough manner in the end you will become a christian. First answer the simple questions like where do all the missing sox go. there is something you could actually research and get an answer to. We would all like to know at least those of us who would like not to take anything on faith, and want to base it all on provable facts.

There is a big difference between breeding and creation. Breeding is to make a donkey marry a snake to make a dragon. Creation is to start up with no-substance and to end-up with something that has a life in it. Even a fly would prove what you said, but Alas! they couldn't even with the Millions and Billions of Dollars on research were able to create a fly!

Simple!

Selective breeding is a natural form of genetic manipulation.

Taurus Fire Bull,
Bred. Humans bred dogs. Nice analogy though.

Evolution is voodoo science, there is no proof to support it.
Life can't evolve from non-life, scientists proved that when they tried and failed.

Darwin has made a monkey out of all the evolutionists.
