Have you ever been in a motor vehicle accident or suffered from other neck trauma? There's a few things it could be. Also, age might have something to do with it.

I have the same problem as you and there are several things you can do. First, see a physician to diagnose exactly what the problem is. The doctor most likely will want you to try conservative measures such as alternating ice with heat. You can take NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) such as Motrin, Aleve, Aspirin. Tylenol might help but it won't help with localized inflammation. A chiropractor might be of help.

There's a good chance your headaches are caused from whatever condition your neck has. Are they only on one side of your head? Are you hyper-sensitive to light and sound? Do you get nauseous with or without vomiting? If so, sounds like migraine headaches are a secondary condition to whatever problem that your neck has.

This problem probably won't go away on its own, so I recommend seeing a doctor, having X-rays, CT scans or a MRI to pinpoint the problem. The results will determine what treatment is appropriate and the best way to deal with the pain.

I walk miles in your moccasins everyday, I wish you the best of luck!

Is interesting to see some of the advice to this question. Someone apparently having been through what they recommend for you to do but, still continue to have their same problem every day. Is a pretty sad state of affairs.!!
