The political problems in this wacky chess game are many. We see now the terrible conundrum of preemption (the U.S. must endure the heaped opprobrium and recrimination of the world community) in the case of the current war in Iraq. Unfortunately, the united states has spent so much political capital on the Iraq war that interceding in other problem areas is not so feasible anymore. This may present a problem to the security of the world, of course, because now greater caution and self-consciousness may be the U.S.'s in any international crisis (like the invasion of Kuwait in 1990). The world is in more trouble than any of us is comfortable admitting.

Yes it helps them immensely. After north Korea had several missiles fail during their launches this year, missile sales from the north came to almost a complete stop. Now he has technology that he can sell to those that are faithful patrons of the state.
Unfortunately, an invasion of Pyeongyang could mean the deaths of over 25 million civilians in the south, according to some estimates, and will probably never happen. A nuclear north korea could also mean nuclear terror states. This is a sad day for the nuclear non-proliferation movement.

Now, lets put the Nuclear Proliferation in to the drains. If North Korea, unable to feed its population is able to test nukes, than IT IS THE SAFETY for EVERY NATION to develop a nuclear weapons.

No but the People's Republic of China will not allow the US to attack. Remember the Korean conflict of the 1950s.

They know that the U.S. doesn't invade countries with nukes. Can you blame them? They saw what happened in Iraq.
