Does this mean that I can have a tea light candle as long as it is sitting in a deep bowl??

It means that pillars and tapers would be out, unless they were enclosed in a glass holder (top link).

However, jar candles would be ok (see link) as long as the flame is below the rim of the jar).

I have also found a very pretty Etched Heart Votive Holder that you might like (see botom link).

No, it means you cannot have any candles on. Many places do not allow lit candles not even tea lights. But as long as it is covered it is ok, but that's not a deep bowl.

Ask the establishment for clarification, but normally when they have this statement it refers to tealights, tapers and pillars that are not enclosed ie; candlesticks. So you should be able to have your tealight as long as it sitting in an ivy bowl or a wide deep vase. But another alternative to regular tealights are the battery operated tealights. You can find them just about anywhere including walmart.

It means you need to place a hurricane vase (with an open top) ove the candel.
A deep bowl might work, ask your venue rep.
