3. Do swimming if possible.
4. Take some analgesic tablet when pain increases intolerably.
5. Take oil massage or bath once or twice in a week.

Sleep on a hard mattress with your back straight. Placing large pillows under the head is discouraged.
A program of daily exercise will help reduce stiffness, strengthen the muscles around the joints, and prevent or minimize the risk of disability. Swimming is an excellent form of exercise for patients with spondylitis
While a cure for spondylitis is not available, certain drugs help provide relief from pain and stiffness and allow patients to perform their exercises with minimal discomfort. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are the most commonly used drugs for spondylitis treatment. NSAIDs are not related to cortisone (a steroid), although both work by reducing inflammation. A variety of NSAIDs are currently available, and the choice of a particular drug should be discussed with the treating doctor.
and you should put off some weight

I have arthritis in my spinal column bones, due to falling down the stairs when I was 11.. Im 28now and have little bone spurs out my back.. It hurts at times.. My doctor just tells me to take Ibuprofin when its bad, but I have gone on the internet and found that to help my back remain strong, its the stomach muscles that need to be in shape. they support your back. Everymorning before I get out of bed, I do 5 or 6 little things.. I am flat on my back, and pull my knees to my chest like hugging my legs. I hold it for the count of ten. then I lower my toes to the bed, keeping my knees bent and together, I rotate both my knees from side to side without trying to move my torso. I try to see how far I can rotate my knees to the side. I do 5 or 6 reps of this. Then I straighten one leg out and using the other, I bend my legg and pulling it up to my chest, then straigten it out upwards and lower it down to almost touching the floor then without touching the floor I bend it up again. I do 5 or 6 of these alternating right and left legg. then I do a pretzel twist. I straigten out my right legg and using my left legg I bend it up to my chest and I pull it over my right side trying to touch my left knee to the right side bed. and all th while I try to make my torso turn tot he left.. its like twisting a pretzel.. it helps my lower back pull out.. I do this 5 or 6 times.. then to end all, I flip over onto my belly, and pulling and tucking my knees under me, I curl up and sit there on my bed like a tucked in frog allowing the small of my back to relax.. this feels the best to me.. ... supposedly these exercises are light and non stressing and help to tone and stretch the vital stomach and back muscles.. I checked with my doctoer and he agreed..
