I used to belong to many free dating sites awhile ago.They work if you can find someone close to you. Otherwise you get alot of women from places like Russia and especially women from Africa! You really have to be careful. I have made some real good friends in Russia but neither of us can afford what it would cost to visit each other and most of the women in Africa are nothing but lying scammers that just want your money or you to help them get their "supposed millions" out of the country!I refuse to even deal with anyone from Africa because that place is well known for being the biggest scamming country in the whole world! I have supposedly won over 300 lotteries etc from there in the last year if that's any clue to you. There are women all over that will scam you out of money if you let them but I have found places like My Space, Lostcherry.com , Plentyoffish.com also isn't a bad place where most people are real and not out to scam you and you can find people in your area at and a few others where you can make alot of friends but also find people closer to you that are more for real and you have a heel of alot better chance of not being scammed and actually meeting in person. I also agree that there are some dating sites that you pay for but they help you out by checking to make sure that the people are real etc. So I guess you just get what you pay for in alot of ways.I still have a list of alot of the sites I had profiles at and send it to women that ask me for it, at least the ones that I feel aren't just scammers anyway to try to help them find someone.

I don't know if it's free, but I've heard marvelous things about eHarmony. I think it's supposed to be really really professional and they don't like psychos in and stuff like that... lol... but seriously, yeah, I've seen things on TV about it and it looks great...
But I would definitely try to get to know people around you... and if you live in a small town or there's not really anyone you're interested in, try moving or traveling. A lot of husbands and wives meet eachother overseas or away from home. :)

You are trying to find a life partner - the most important thing you can do in your whole life - and you expect to do it for free?
This, of all things, is something you should invest in. You get what you pay for. don't be a cheapskate.

Try to check www.afro-romance.com.Its kinda working for me....you can choose to pay or not.U can chat live using webcams still.But take care not everybody is serious there.But it works out for some pple..u might be lucky...
