What are the odds of China taking initiative and taking control of North Korea to maintain a balance of power?

I have always found it very hard to read China or other Asian nations . Their culture is so radically different from our that I think we westerners miss what is and is not said somtimes when they talk .

For instance they issued a warning - If Bush did that he could if he had to wiggle out of it .The Asian culture does not seem to allow for the "loss of face" the way we do . As a result they word things more carefully and make fewer threats than we do in Canada the UK or the US .

Will they do anything at all? I am not sure , China is too big for the US to even think about taking on so they would have free reign to do as they please and likely if they did choose to invade or somthing the US would call China and say we are going to tell you how bad you are and insist you pull out but please ignore that and continue with the invasion. Durring the invasion you might find they take back Tawian while no one is looking.

That being scenario A China might sit back and do absolutely nothing and wait and see if the US will put in the hardware

China might be on it's own global domination scheme and if so a very good long range plan for them would be to let other NATO armies exausht themselves and take on the winner .After all the Americans are showing signs of strain now from what they have taken on . Imagine what the death tolls and the economic losses would be if the US took on N Korea - Again ?

The first time the Americans went to N Korea it was a blood bath - Since the US has never lost a war they called it a police action . Vietnam was a tie and the war of 1812 was a border squmish - Hence it is that America has never lost a war (redefined it yes lost no) .

So back to your question on the odds

Why could China desire to manage North Korea? Nevermind the political repercussions, what does North Korea have that may probably curiosity China? Territory? China is the sector's second (or third) biggest nation by way of geographical measurement. Economy? China is the sector's second so much strong financial system, even as North Korea actually has NO financial system to talk of. Military? You're joking correct? Resources? The Chinks don't have to occupy N.K. Without China, N.K. would starve. China uses N.K. to mess with the rest of the world - but the nukes are starting to concern China. Sort of like when the dumb girl friend starts to learn how to shoot!
