Yes, Clorox bleach does kill the bacteria. The strong smell is usually associated with chlorine bleach. The chlorine has a very strong odor, the nature of the chemical, but it is deadly lethal to germs.

Clorox bleach? A 70% dilution is the most effective at killing bacteria. In the lab, we tested common antibacterial agents to see which was most effective and of the stuff you can use at home, bleach worked the best, and at a dilution of 70%. The smell of bleach (household bleach) is because it contains chlorine (NaClO). Be safe and never mix bleach and ammonia if you do make your own dilutions!

Isn't it funny how everything that is gross smells and so does the stuff to clean it up with. Maybe one scent is to cover the other? Bleach is wonderful in killing bacteria though. Chlorine, I believe is what makes the smell so strong. What are YOU trying to cover up? HAHA

Bleach is concentrated, that is why the smell is so strong.

To sanitize dishes when hand washing, you only need 1 capful of bleach to I believe 5 gallons of water.

To clean in a spray bottle its like 2 capfuls per spray bottle of water.

Bleach will kill 99.999999999% of any germs you encounter. It is also a great ant deterant.
