I think that most people don't give 16 yr olds enough credit. they have a mind of their own and aren't as young and you think. they know a whole lot more now than probably what I did 8 years ago. So how come there's a law that says anyone under 18 is illegal to be with. first of all I am 24 and it's not a certainty that I'd have sex with this guy I like that's 16,2nd if I were to have sex with him the only way I'd go to jail is if his parents pressed charges. It has nothing to do with sex, I could wait the 2 years for that but I enjoy being around him and if all we did was kiss, hold and hug each other I'd be happy. I am not in a rush for the physical. what do you feel for a 16 and 24 year old dating with only kissing and affection? still imoral, even if we seem to be on the same level mentally/emotionally?

When I was fifteen I dated a guy who was 22. I really did love him. My family didn't like him because he was too old. His family didn't like me because I was too young. They thought I was a little girl. One of my uncles, who also happened to be the pastor of my church, told him to be careful about what he did. That night the guy, John, completely avoided me only for me to discover late what had happened. I have always been really mature for my age. I'm seventeen now. We had already spoken of marriage together, and we were really serious, but willing to wait. We weren't even officially boyfriend and girlfriend because he said he was willing to wait for me those three years so there wouldn't be any problems. John broke up with me because his family was pressuring him to. If you love some one, and it's true love, age shouldn't stop you. You say you're willing to wait for the physical, then it's okay. Go for it.

My dear, you are probably not going to like this answer, but I think you MUST HEAR IT & LISTEN TO IT and, for God sake, HEED it !!!!!!!! You need to understand that each person, including you, matures at a different rate. The LAW tries to PROTECT YOUNG PEOPLE from making SERIOUS MISTAKES that will haunt throughout their lives and may even RUIN their lives!!! SEX at 16 is NOT what a 16 year old should be doing!!! Serious romance is not what 16 year olds need either!!! Minor and casual dating, supervised by parents and education EMPHASIZED is what 16 year olds need , also 17, 18,19,20, 21,& 22 year olds need , and until the graduate from UNIVERSITY or have MASTERED A VALUABLE CRAFT/SKILL ( electrician, plumber, plasterer, etc -- there are many) and are on a healthy life course SHOULD BE CONCENTRATING ON THEIR F U T U R E S -- they have the next 20 years for sex, love, romance!! Unfortunately EVOLUTION has not kept up with human progress and we still have these innate urges to procreate at a far toooooooooooooooo early age, so WE MUST HAVE STRONG PARENTS , TOUGH-STRONG LAWS, and BRIGHT, CARING, INTERSESTED TEACHERS to take notice, to step in and re-direct our young people to take the path that will lead them to a truely happy life. One which will give them a solid future and give our society a healthy future! A 16 year old boy has no way to make a living and doesn't have the emotional capacity to be a FATHER !!! It will only lead to more misery in our world for teenagers to engage in sex -- sex is for adults & only truly for adults who are mature enough and capable enough to handle ALL of its responsibilities!!! It's going to take him at least 10 MORE YEARS to learn about himself, the world, others, etc. and to GET A SKILL (plumber, electrician, etc) OR EDUCATION which will AFFORD HIM A GOOD LIFE for himself and a family ! IF YOU WERE TRULY A MATURE WOMAN YOU would not even dream OF HAVING sex with a 16 year old BOY !!!!!!!
And, apparently, you haven't been paying attention -- there have been SEVERAL other women, who ended up in PRISON for THIS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No, most 16 years old do not think for themselves. May be you are a super genius of some sort when you were 16. But that doesn't cut it.

You are still a child molester. You are trying to lobby for supporting what you are doing wrong. Go elsewhere.

You just want to have sex with kids. Hope you got busted big time.

There are no, Hanna. At sixteen you're seen legally a minor (which potential you're legally a newborn) and you may't sign a freelance without your mom and dad. Checking right into a inn constitutes signing a legal contract, so which you will no longer probably do this. quickly, there are no lodges everywhere interior the US the place you may examine in on my own on the age of sixteen.

16 and 24, you are both at really different stages in life unless you failed a few grades in school. how can there even be a good connection there. i say move on to someone older that you can relate to and really connect with. if you have to worry about someones parents pressing charges b/c you had sex you might want to steer clear of that situation

I would say that unless you have been in the situation you cant judge. But it seems to be a huge age gap especially where the female is 24, buys mature a lot slower than girls and I wonder whether you have any guys your age to talk to and get to know. If you arent worried about the social stimga attached then go for it, but make sure he doesnt go bragging to his friends or you will get into trouble.

Nope. 16 years old is too young to comprehend the realities of life.

Age is just a number... but if your not mentally or emotionally on the same level why would you want to be with him?

leave the boy alone.

he has to deal with changing hormones, finishing high school, and his parents, all on a daily basis.

if you REALLY care about him, let him be.

take a cold shower and call him in 2 years.
