I have a trans am with the monsoon system, and to add any kind of subs or amps you will want it done professionally. In order to add those things, the factory amp must be bypassed. The car doesn't really have a sub in it stock, GM just uses the 6 and a half's in the back seats to act as subs... no vocal audio comes out at all. That of course can be rearranged when bypassing the factory amp and installing your new equipment.

WTF 180.5 db's..that dumbass doesnt know what hes talking about. World Record is only 173 DB's. Someone is full of ****. Anyhow I used to have a 85 Trans Am, and a 95 Camaro Z28. I know what its like to have hatchback F-bodies. Anyhow to get an kickass system for your car...heres a lil tip, Go to Best Buy, and get the Infiniti 12" Subs model #,REF1252W, for $110 a piece,
which pumps out 1,000 watts peak power and 300 RMS which is Continuous power. Get the Kenwood, 4 channel 720 W amp model# KAC-8402, has it for $259, which is cheap for an amp., and bridge it to 2 ohms stable. That way you get alot more deeper bass than a 4 ohm. If you dont know how to run it into 2 ohms, just ask the person to install it for you, or you can do it yourself. Tells you so on the amp.

Stay away from Pionner Subs, only thing thats good about Pionner are the 6x9 speakers and the Radio. The subs will blow very easily. You can havea 100 watt amp pushing them, or your stock amp, and it will blow it.

When you get the 12" dual sealed box, place some Insulation inside the box, the bass will sound better when done so, then just a box and subs. If you get a dual sub box that you can flip upside down into the trunk's compartment, the bass hits even harder. I had my camaro into bass off's running 2 12" infiniti's with the same amp, and Bose system....I pushed 158 db's and shattered my back window. Thats when I got plexiglass for the rear window. It's an expensive hobby. So have fun. Anything you need to know email me @ low_eclipse_gt_01@yahoo.com

Oh by the way, you dont need to bypass any damn thing! another trick, is to intall a switch that runs from your battery to your radio, that way you can turn the switch on when you want the subs to kick on, and turn off to listen to the factory stereo system. Do not disconnect the sotck amp or anything, some people do that because they dont know tricks on how to trick out your system. If you have any questions, hit me up. I own a garage and a car club called Wicked Extremes...we are all over the place and soon will have our website up and running.

OK yes Pioneer makes excellent head units but as for subs they sound pretty good but not really worth if you want it to go loud I don't know if your ever seen the suspension on a pioneer sub its pretty limited (less air you move= the less bass you make) and there amps are ok most only have full and low pass filter and gain no high pass filter sub-sonic crossover(which you will need if your using a ported box) or bass boost. I really like kicker subs I had 2 8"s in a ported box they sounded great waayyy louder then you'd think. As for as amps I hear good things about massive audio and its not way horribly expensive so your best bet is to go on eBay and look for this stuff and you'll be very happy.I know pioneer has the world record but did they use there $80 subs ofcourse not (you fool, god would you read the question!!!) now what the questions asked was for a good inexpensive system so thats what I provided.

hey luises14@sbcglobal.net, you couldnt be more wrong. i bet you didnt know that pioneer holds the world record for spl, thats sound pressure level, at 180.5 db with only 13 subs. i say only, cause team kicker has over 70 solo x's and cannot beat the 13 pioneer subs. so to answer your question, ignor kicker boy, and go with pioneer, but get there premier modle.

best cheap but real quality you have to go with pioneer. they have both amps and subs, as well as headunits. get about 800w a piece 12's and a 1400w or so amp so there's no chance of blowing them as long as you hook them up right.
