I too have two kids and have been diagnosed with depression/anxiety. Parenthood is a difficult thing... for a time it's completely thankless and exhausting and this takes a toll on the parent's mentality. Since being on paxil, I have made a complete turn around. My doc was extremely helpful in explaining that it isn't that I'm a fruit cake... or completely loosing it... it's a simple chemical imbalance that needs help. Sometimes you can later wean yourself off of it but sometimes you need to stay on it... thank God we have things like these, it used to be that people thought you were flat out crazy! Hang in there! You'll be fine in no time...

I have these kinds of problems too. Make sure you take a multi-vitamin/mineral supplement. Having children keeps you very busy, but make sure you have fun with them. Try to look for fun stuff with them, sing songs, join in their activities and have fun with them. Kids are only young for a short time. The time you spend enjoying is time you spend not being overwhelmed.
Make sure you get enough sleep, healthy food and water. Take care of yourself as you take care of your kids. Give yourself time. Don't let your anxious thoughts drive your life, talk back to them and tell them "I'm fine", and, "it's OK".
Things will get easier and better! Just because you've been diagnosed with these problems now, don't fall into thinking that you are those labels. Many people live with these problems.
Depression and anxiety tend to be states which come and go as the circumstances of life change. Make sure that you don't get so caught up in having the problems that you miss opportunities to feel well and free of them.
Focus on health and well being. Work at keeping yourself and your children well and happy. The more good thoughts you have, the less room there is for the other stuff.

I don't mean to make light of your situation but you sound as though you think you have some sort of incurable disease or something. Have you ever heard of depression and anxiety? You are not alone, many people suffer from depression and anxiety on a daily basis but the good news is it is treatable and you will get get better if you take the medication prescribed by your doctor. Some people have also found counseling in conjunction with medication helps as well.

You have a good friend you can get away with and talk to once a week for a break? this will help. If not then try to give you some time some how. Make sure you get enough sleep and keep low on the caffeine. This will get better. I went through this. Becareful with the prescriptions and side effects. Keep a journal of your feelings so you can let them out when you need to.

I have the exact same problems. They are very common and are easy to control. Anxiety sucks and it took ahold of me when i was 18, i never wanted to leave my home and was afriad i was dying. Just remember its all in your mind! Try a anxiety/anti depressant blocker. You may have to use a few different kinds to find out what works the best for you. I tried alot and found that Lexapro works well for me, and Citraloprham. It takes time to work it self in but once it does life can and will continue like it once was. From time to time you will have your days of anxiety. I know I do. But there is always tomorrow. Please dont let yourself suffer and try the meds they really do help. I wish you the best of luck!

ignore random dude, he's an ignorant fool. While i don't have children, i have been diagnosed w/ depression, and i get anxiety as well. I'm not sure what you are asking for, if you wanted to know if someone else is like you then yeah. Oh, well also my mother has problems like that, and as you probably figured she has kids. So yeah. If you want ways to deal w/ it along w/ your meds i woudl suggest a counsellor, they can help quite a bit. And don't forget to take your meds faithfully, i've found that if you don't it can be pretty nasty lol. Well, i hope things work well w/ you, good luck!

Check to look if there are any Sliding Scale psychiatrist's for your subject. Your first intial discuss with is solely getting expertise however the 2d discuss with must aid verify your problems. It will take a pair visits however mainly it is helping. Some Family Doctors will present trial meds for deppression however they do not let you know so much- simply reccommend you to a psych. document. A psychologist is a document so as to simply aid with out meds however a psychiatrist will deliver you meds. It's as much as you particularly. Hope this is helping slightly.

Frankly, I think you should avoid these drugs if at all possible. Wait and see if the symtoms pass. If they get worse then I guess you'll have to try the drugs. These can sap your strength and make you sick and you might sleep a lot. My aunt went through all this. Then she was really depressed. Hopefully, it will pass.

depression i a physiological thing right? start taking to people, love what you have stoop despair! i know its hard, but think of it this way, your depression not only hurts you but everyone. your being selfish when your depressed. not saying your selfish but depression is selfish. when people get depressed there always like me me me oh poor me. and it is a serious thing. most doctors diagnose you with depression cause they want your money, to buy drugs. there full of crud. don't listen to them, but talk to your family and friends let them know how you feel and they will love you and tell you its OK. i will tell you love is the key cure to depression also selflessness is too.
