i didnt think it mattered, but my cousin was saying that it does and like, if you inhale at the wrong time the air gets trapped in your stomach and makes your stomach feel bigger

You need to exhale as you rise..not just because your stomach will feel bigger if you don't, but because you also run the risk of popping a rib, & trust me, you don't want to do that!
I had terrible problems co-ordinating my breathing until I popped my rib..THE MOST EXCRUCIATING PAIN I'VE EVER EXPERIENCED!
Now I know to always exhale as I place pressure on my abdomen.

Your cousin is right. Exhale when you sit up and inhale when you lie down.

Exhale while you're moving head towards knees, inhale while you're moving head back.

well it really doesn't matter but If u've exorsised to much u could get tired out and when u inhale it could make ur stomach feel bigger.
