If he was neutered at an early age before his little doggie hormones really kicked in, he may pee like a girl all his life. I've had two males who were neutered young, and they never did learn to raise their legs.

I don't know if that was good or bad, but it never bothered me in the least. And if they got teased by other dogs at the local "watering hole," then that was THEIR problem!

Go to Yahoo Search, type in "male beagle pees like a girl". There's a 100 lb Golden, male that pees like a girl, and yr worried about a little beagle?

I had an enormous Irish Setter who would go through stages of being lazy and not wanting to pee like a man. Usually at night, or after a lot of activity the big guy would swat. It is not a problem at all. As long as the dog is peeing, who cares how he does it? If he is not straining, complaining or anything else, it is just his habit.

It does not matter. I have a beagle/basset hound mix that still squats rather than lifting his leg and he is a little over a year old.
