If you want to be an actor or actress, then you are never too old. Films and stage usually need people of all ages to play various characters. Somebody has to play young and old people. Who better to play them is someone of the correct age. Make sure you have something to fall back on if the acting dream doesn't work out for you.

You are never too old. However, it would help if you had a degree in it. I'm a theatre major, and every time someone comes from the professional world to give talks at my school, they always say it is easier to get hired if you have a degree in the exact area you are trying to work in.

No. Anybody can act in plays. To be in movies, as anything other than a non speaking part extra, you have to join the actor's guild.

You don't have to give up, but you should proceed with caution. The number of people who dream of acting is SOOOOOOOOOO much higher than the number of people who actually make it. Even a lot fewer than that become stars.

If you are even thinking of giving up, you don't have the passion it takes to become an actress. You also need patience. You need to be able to take rejection in stride. You also need to support yourself while you are waiting for acting jobs.
