No known diseases are directly related to Vitamin C however, over use of Vitamin C can cause citric acid poisoning which can produce a number of symptoms. Some of these symptoms can be quite painful. Swelling and redness in the legs, habitual coughing, sore throat, shortness of breath, and abdominal pain. Long term over use of vitamin C can also cause liver damage. So I wouldn't take a dentists word for it, I would consult your physician. You also have to take into consideration the foods and beverages you consume each day that contain vitamin C while taking vit. C supplements.
