...for actually turning people AWAY from Him in droves with your fire & brimstone, brainwashing, bible-thumping tactics? Would you really want to have to apologize to His face for that? What if God got really fed up with it and decided the Bible-thumpers got to go to Hell and everyone else gets to stay in Heaven?

HaHaHaHa You are so funny. You need not worry about the so called bible thumping. Jesus has told us that many will say, Lord did we not prophesy in your name, and Jesus will answer, Get away from me.

Who's this "you" you're generalizing about? Not all Christians are Fundamentalists, or even Biblical literalists. Many mainline churches dropped the whole hellfire and damnation routine years ago. Have you been told you're going to Hell by a Unitarian or Episcopalian lately?

How are you stereotyping Christians? I think the term "Bible-thumpers" did the trick. That implies a certain variety of Christian, i.e., Fundamentalists.

Sometimes the lack of compassion still astounds me. I know that you are trying to point out the same thing that others have, but I don't think the ones who are telling us we're all going to hell really care. Do you?.

not every christian is like that. Most show thier faith through works and kindness. every true christian has judgement day on thier mind. it doesn't matter individually if the person they are witnessing to accepts or not, the point is that the christian honestly tried. I think those that use threatening tactics to witness should stick to service projects through the church for a while. i really think you are stereotyping christians.

yeah i do recognize that christians do this. i did not deny that. i said not all or most do not do this. bible thumpers and all those descriptions are most associated with christians. YOU know who you meant, we all know who you meant. Yes, i think you are stereotyping all christians into that cliche statement that everybody and thier mom knows the association to.

God knows that we will sometimes be mistaken about things because we're human.
That includes being mistaken about ways to share our faith. I agree that sometimes people are driven away from God by these mistakes, and it's really unfortunate.
If only we all knew how to share our faith without driving anyone away. But we learn over time, and God is gracious.

Jesus taught the Apostles to spread His word and evangelize.
I don't think He's going to change His mind.

God doesn't get fed up and it is not a game to say "I am off!"
