How about fighting Iran at the same time too?

Yes, the military is stretched too thin. You forgot to mention troops in Germany, Japan and other places in the world. If we were forced into a war with North Korea it would mean the draft would have to be started again. However, that might become a moot point since it is very likely that Japan and China would surely become directly involved. It is also highly likely that a war with North Korea would turn into an all out war before adequate numbers of troops could be trained, supplied and fielded.

Our military is stretched way too thin. With some troops on their 3rd or 4th tour of duty, it is taking its toll on them. They must be getting war-weary. Iraq and don't forget Afghanistan, they are two separate wars, no matter what spin the Bush administration is attempting to put on it. North Korea, and Iran would be the breaking point. If that happens look for the draft to be re-instated. You may as well throw China into that mix, and possibly Russia, those two are defending Iran, probably North Korea too.

Yes. We've got Nat Guard and Marines stretched through Afghanistan (anyone remember Afghanistan?), Iraq, and the Mexican border. There's a 3-front war right there......get North Korea and Iran in the mix, and frankly we're hosed pretty bad.

In that case, everyone say hello to this little thing called THE DRAFT.

Hear, hear Mainroadax!! And how about our 'leaders' stop making up reasons to fight wars and start caring about their people... and I mean all of their people, not just the ones with money...hey does G.W. even know where Korea IS? or does he think that it's somewhere in Europe!

YES! The American and British troops are stretched thin and probably couldn't fight a good fight right now... so now when a country really DOES have weapons of mass destruction, what can we do after using up all of our resources resulting from an all out search for imaginary WMD's.... G.W. is a stupid man!

Under the present conditions, yes, stretched far too thin. We're not prepared to take on any more unless a war is officially declared and the conscripted service is brought back. Iraq is turning into another Viet Nam, we're trying to use million dollar bombs and high tech surveillance to subdue an invisible enemy that uses old left over munitions and 2000 years of experience in gorilla warfare tactics.

ABSOLUTELY.
And the other nations that don't like us know it too.
If there is any more trouble, you can expect the draft to be reenacted.
Why do you think all 18 year olds are required to register?
So they got ya, that's why.
In1965 the draft swelled the military manpower in Vietnam to over 500,000 by October of 1966.
It only takes about two months to put troops through training and have them "ready" to dodge bullets and bombs.

if that were to be a problem, what makes you think they won't bring back the Draft?

If we are stretched too thin, they will bring back the draft, it's that simple. So you don't have to worry about nothing. And for that idiot who said the US empire is over, you're an idiot!

Draft is coming back!! That is if we need to, and it seems it's getting closer.

Oh, and i forgot to say, Sandy is a *****, i can tell she hates the US, HATER!!!

WE ARE THE MOST POWERFUL COUNTRY IN THE WORLD BEATCH!!!!! SO STOP HATING!!!

No, because South Korean, China and Japan aren't stretched thin. If anybody was going to do something, it would be those 3.

Don't forget Afghanistan.

We can barely handle Iraq, what are you talking about? If we can't deal with a 3rd world country in the desert, how are we going to deal with a 3rd world country in the jungle, especially when we have already lost to two Norths which are jungle countries?

Can you say DRAFT? Think about it--our national guard troops are there and they are usually reserved for states to help with natural disasters and the like. There are no bodies to spare for another war without a draft.
