Tired of looking like a fool? Well if that is the world's perception of my faith and my God, I could care less. I believe in my faith with all my heart, what someone else thinks is neither here nor there.
You do make some good points. I have always said, the zealots, the people who want to beat you over the head with what they see as Christianity chases people away, it does not convert in any way shape or form.
What suggestions do you have to get the good word out in a good way? I'm always up for good ideas in sharing my faith in a God-pleasing way.

You are worried, and so are a lot of other Christians. I am not a Christian, but looking at it from the outside I can tell you the following: The fanatically religious have unfortunately thrown a shadow over all Christians. Ironically, those Christians who truly follow their faith without feeling the need to beat others over the head with it often remain silent because of embarrassment. Kudos to you for not doing that.

If you're trying to find a group of people to associate with who do not have a hefty dose of idiots, good luck. The hypocritical and self-righteous can be found in any group, whether they call themselves Christians, atheists or just the unallied group of morons who are not bright enough to realize they're morons.
If you want to prove Christians aren't all idiots, the best you can do is to pay attention to yourself. Don't apologize for your beliefs and don't bother getting sidetracked by the idiots. Think through your answers beforehand and explain them clearly, allowing for the fact that there are going to be plenty of others who do not share your opinions. In the end, you are only responsible for your own actions.
And don't cast your pearls before swine. It wastes pearls and annoys the swine.

I was taught you can hate the action but love the person. I am not sure why that came to mind, but your "question" was the best thing I read on here all night. I don't claim a religion, just a belief, nor a political party, I do feel all persons are individual for their own actions, but most people don't feel this way and the ones who are trying to "make people see the light" should just stop and let their own shine.

Amen TheDom. I asked a similar question last night. Not all people that cry Lord, Lord are going to see the kingdom of God. Some day we will be separated at judgment day the sheep from the goats (which many will claim they were Christians) and the Lord will say "you never knew me" Thank you for your question and the Truth of how we should be acting

The word christian means "Christ like". If people would remember that maybe it would be easier for them to get the good word out there. Christ never forced anything on anyone and everything he did was out of pure love for us, he set forth an example and people followed.

I agree with you. Sometimes it's hard on this site. 2 Peter1:5-7 says we are to be partakers of faith, virtue, knowledge, temperance, patience, godliness, brotherly kindness, and Love.
We are also commanded to spread the Word of God to everyone every where. I agree that we are not to look like fools, but they think that we are brainwashed just for believing. But that is not our problem. That Jesus Camp thing doesn't help either. But if believing in Jesus makes us fools to the world, count me in.

I think alot of people do share your concern. There is alot of hateful things out there being preached in the name of 'Christianity.' I think the balance is to find kind ways of saying things kindly that may upset people but that some Christians hold very true nonetheless.
