The girlfriend doesn't always have to be the submissive one. At times its ok but the guy shouldn't be "in charge." A relationship is a two way street where you share the responsiblities and treat each other equally.

It's not natural for the man to be in charge anymore. All you need is a man who likes being the submissive one and a woman who like being in charge and that will work just as well as the other way around.

Why can't you have equal authority in a relationship. I think that is why failed marriages are so common these days. People actually believe that someone has the right to control anothers life. Aren't you free to live your own life? Without a man or a woman to control it?

I believe what you're thinking of is having the man be the bread winner, that is fine as long as he recognizes that the role of the woman in that setting is equal but different. Should he tell you what to wear and where to go? absolutely not! You're both adults. women should not be submissive unless they choose and by choosing that they can never really be submissive. It's called human rights.

They say there is only one alpha dog.....but in a relationship I think give and take is the key...Lets call it respect for each others opinions, and trust....I would prefer an assertive, smart, woman and they tend to be more dominant, but what is ok, makes up for a lot of shortcomings to have a partner that can handle different situations with athority.

In every relationship I've been in and observed, there has been a dominant half and a weaker half. I'd have to say that 75% of the time it's the woman who is dominant. I think that is because we take care of: men, children, pets, food, laundry, cleaning, our own jobs, ourselves. As the one who is in charge of sooo much, I have final say on just about everything. My husband has no idea how much money we have in the bank (I take care of finances) let alone how much toilet paper we have in the hallway closet. And that's ok. My mom took care of everything, and that's how it was with just about every girlfriend I have.

Okay... There are 2 options here.
1) you are either confused about how a relationship is supposed to be.
2) Or you are sexest (not sayingyou are) Relatinships don't work if one is completely incharge. Things are supposed to bejoint otherwise in our modern growing world where woman are coming to power, it won't work

Maybe that's why I am single. I am looking for someone to partner with. I want a chick who can bail me out if I get into trouble and vice/versa. I want a woman who is going to challenge and push me. I think (intellectually and emotionally strong women are sexy). Life is tough enough trying to get through it alone, I can't imagine having to carry someone else through life.
