I think it is something tiny like a shrew or a hummingbird because small creatures always need to eat to keep their body's going.

It's gotta be some kind of insect. How about the ant? You knock down their hill and they start right away at building it again. If I were them, I'd wait til the person left instead of starting right then. He might just knock it down again!
