When my cousin was 18 she and her boyfriend had a baby out of wedlock. She was still living at home and going to school at the time and although her parents were supportive it was very, very hard for them (devout Catholics) and, as my cousin puts it, her pregnancy was a very dark time in the house . When her son was 3 yrs old she and her boyfriend (the father of her son) got married and then they had another son.
As with most things, time had healed any bad feelings and, after all, my cousin and her boyfriend ended up getting married.
One evening my cousin and her family were at her parents' house for dinner, along with the other sibs and their families. At this time my cousin's 2 boys, "Sam" & "Marty" were about 12 & 8 years old. The younger one, Marty, had recently learned about the facts of life and how long it takes for a baby to grow inside it's mother's womb.
He also knew when his parents were married.
So, thinking this info was as new to everyone else as it was to him Marty wants to share his revelation and asks at the dinner table (just as proud as you please), "Grandma! Grandpa! Did you know that Sam was born 3 YEARS before mom & dad got married?!!!"
My uncle just stared at his plate, "Uh...uh-huh." and put more food in his mouth.

My mom was a waitress when I was real young (many many years ago). She brought me to her work with her while she picked up her paycheck. I looked at one of the customers who happened to have a noticably receeding hair line and I said very loudly, "Look mommy, that man has no hair on top of his head!!"

My ex's mom being Dutch and making it blatant at her dinner table that he is to be with a NICE DUTCH girl and I am not Dutch..
