At one time I worked for a guy who was from Singapore. His family brought this very good meal, but one of the items included was this creamy green "jello" like dish. It was really bad! The texture and color matched the taste...Yuk! But of course, we had to be polite and eat it anyway.

I know the feeling. I had a similar situation, only i didn't pretend to like the chicken. I pointed out how uncooked it was and everyone started picking their chicken apart and wouldn't eat it. The person that cooked it was so defensive and hurt.

I went to my friends house for dinner. She's East Indian. I have had East Indian cuisine before so going to her house for dinner was no big deal to me. When I tasted her mom's cooking, I just about threw up! It was awful! She can't cook! But I didn't want to be rude or offend anyone, so I ate most of it and smiled. I deserved an Oscar for that performance!

I had to to eat something that was made by someone that wasn't a good housekeeper and the idea of that kept going through my mind. They had cockroaches crawling all over their house.I acted clumsy and dropped it so their dog ate it.I really felt bad about it.I know alot of people who won't eat food cooked by people who don't keep a clean house/kitchen.

Last year I had a Christmas party and my sister wanted to bring some appetizers.
There were these little pyllo pastry shells she filled with a cream cheese and salmon goo...she was so proud of herself and immediately wanted me to try one.
After poping one in my mouth, I smiled and quickly made my way to the kitchen...I had to wipe the rest of it off my tongue with a paper towel. There was no way I was going to tell her how awful they were though.
Poor thing went home that night with the tray still 90% filled.

Oh yes, and boy did that suck. I was at my friend's house, who is Korean, and they invited me to stay for dinner..so I did. It turned out they were having this weird meat that was kind of spicy, noodles that had some weird stuff in it, and white rice. It tasted horrible, so I just pretended that I liked and took very small bites. haha

~*~Yes, years ago.....every time we went to my mother-in-law's home for dinner. Her cooking was extremely bland &/or greasy. But it's not nice or smart to anger ones mother-in-law, especially early in the game! lol

I'm sure I have .. you don't want to hurt someones feelings .. that's just wrong.. well if someone you love makes something special for you have got to like it or they will be mad right... I think everyone has done this ..
