If you want to fly the first you have to do is get your weight down to the lowest practical level. They say that each pound adds an xtra 3 seconds to your mile time. Make sure that you cross train. Be sure to hit the weight room to improve upper body. What you don't want to do is run every day. Overuse is bad for you. Add variety to your workouts, have fun with it, and hit plenty of hills. If you're training for 3 miles, train at a much longer distance at about 6 miles if you have the endurance. Also, remember to carry plenty of water with you. Good Luck.

By running every day for 8 or 9 minutes! After a while your body will get used to it and you won't even notice it anymore! Pace yourself and pretty soon you will be able to run for 15 or 20 minutes and the more you run the better endurance you will have!

Get off your computer and go running. Some how I really doubt your in the marines fatboy.

An marine sergeant would never ask that question.

well if you have to run and you want to be fast gradually increase your distance, like running for only 1 mile at a fast pace 1 day then maybe a bit more than a mile the next day and gradually work your way up to 3 miles at a fast pace and bam :)

A good technique is running on mountains, or running up hills.
Since it requires more work, you'll run faster and have more endurance.

I would just keep running and eventually have my stamina up.
Also eating healthy, vegetables, fruits, low fats. and dietary supplements, ie: multi-vitamins, wouldn't hurt either. Good luck

Just run, or train for a marathon.
