you can try buying lime. that's what people used to use to get rid of decomposition odor. i'm not really sure where you would buy this, but you can try a garden or home improvement store.

One method is to cover the area where the cat was with dirt and leave it a few weeks. Then remove the dirt. The smell will be gone.
I found a dead rat on the carpet behind furniture once, but not before it started to smell. I made a solution of water and vinegar, soaked the area, and vacuumed it up with a wet-dry vacuum. I did this several times and then switched to plain water to get rid of the vinegar smell. That worked too.

Simple solution stain and odor remover all the way. Definitely. That Nature's Miracle stuff is lousy in my opinion. Oh it works, just simple solution really max's out your money's worth. I had a cat that peed in the same corner for a month without me knowing it until my brother's brother sat down to play with his legos and complained. I sprayed the area, scrubed it lightly and now it smells-like a corner of a house should. Goodluck ultimately, sometimes we win, sometimes we lose.

Baking soda works wonders. Get a lot of those little boxes. Sprinkle it over where the body was.
You have to clean the area really well too. If you leave any of the liquids or tissue the smell won't leave.
Good Luck

Scrub the area with some sort of cleaning solution. If you have windows in the basement open them and maybe put fans in there. Just air it out. Then don't go down there for awhile.
And never own a pet again, you're obviously not responsible enough to take care of them.

Be sure all the remains are gone, wash with any type of disinfectant, let that dry, open any windows if possible and spray with either a natural enzyme spray or something not too perfumy..
Any other method and you will just get perfumey dead smell...
good luck.

Heart-breaking, really. I do believe that Nature's Miracle will help with that, it works on just about any surface and you can find it at most pet stores. Just make sure you really saturate the surface and leave it to penetrate, it may take a day or two. I hope it works for you.
