no it is not. u see, ur muslim friends are not violent. are they? no.. but if now, muslims people have christian friends or walk around in society where its filled with christians, ppl will discrimitate and will not like them around.. maybe u wont even have friends. they are terrorists for some reason. which is not true. islam believes in good and peace. we believe in jesus, but we do not follow his teachings. thats all.. and we want christians to convert because we believe in same things except they believe in a different prophet that is jesus. we want the best for them because the originial bible is lost. that is why we have old and new testaments where ppl write it. we are actually the same religion. i do not understand why ppl dont see that.

No, it seems as though there might be a few more extremists in the islam religion. But I don't know any organized religion that encourages the mass murdering of anyone. Nobody started pointing fingers at Christians when Timothy McVee came around, so why do it when some extreme muslims do something stupid?

no. I don't think there is a religion that truly advocates violence. Its only the people who interpret it that choose to use it for their own purpose.

Why else would the terrorists do their misdeeds in secret, hiding it even from their families? Why else would Muslim communities be so surprised and upset with each new revelation?

I know some Muslims who are so ashamed of this that they are prepared to change their faith to an earlier religion which was more about love and forgiveness of individuals than the devotion to the religion itself

like any group, the actions of a few tend to tarnish the whole group. But we aren't at school anymore... open your eyes and your mind

No, life is violent. Religions like Islam and Christianity try to tell people when to be violent, and when not to.

The very word Islam means "Peace" and Submission to God. Muslims believe that the only way to get into a Peaceful afterlife is to do good deeds and believe in him. Muslims believe that those with anger on them are misguided and are not on the path of truth. So anyone who is violent has not submitted themselves to God. The only physical fighting that is allowed in Islam is when it is self defense at times of war.

Quran*
An Unforgivable Offense

[4:93] Anyone who kills a believer on purpose, his retribution is Hell, wherein he abides forever, GOD is angry with him, and condemns him, and has prepared for him a terrible retribution.

Grossness of Murder

[5:32] Because of this, we decreed for the Children of Israel that anyone who murders any person who had not committed murder or horrendous crimes, it shall be as if he murdered all the people. And anyone who spares a life, it shall be as if he spared the lives of all the people. Our messengers went to them with clear proofs and revelations, but most of them, after all this, are still transgressing.

Any faith may be used for violence, any concept for that rely could be taken up for a reason that at last ends up in violence. Well history has shown that many wars are fought in the name of religion. The real question should probably be is Islam the most violent religion of our time? and I would be inclined to say yes, but you must understand that these (for sake of a better word) warriors of Islam are extremists of the religion and believe in the so-called "fundamentals" of it's meaning. Therefore your friends technically do not practice the religion in it's fundamental extreme form and thus find no reason to start a war because of it.
