I go to a Church of the Nazarene here in Oklahoma City and I was just wondering what the general consensus was.

it tends to be as mindless as the other bible-based cult groups.

I don't know much a bout the Church of the Nazarene but I have the sense that they are somewhat "works" based. In other words, they think that if they follow a certain behavior code God will approve of them more than He would others who don't. That is as opposed to others who believe that God's mercy is absolutely an unearned, free gift, and there is absolutely nothing that we can do to earn God's approval. (There is long, ancillary theology that explains why this concept does NOT give Christians permission to sin and DOES require them to follow God's rules. However I won't get into that here.)
Am I right or not?
