dignificant other. The dog of course followed me, but I was surprised that she didn't stay up with him long and was soon back downstairs bothering me. Why would she walk away from food like that? She's a 9 month old Golden Retriever.

No telling what was going through her mind, but my thoughts are that a dog will bond more with the person who does more for her and spends the most time with her. Obviously she likes you a lot. Just give her a rub and quit expecting her to beg. Bad manners. Enjoy your dog and do treat her every now and then.

I have a Golden too. They do love food . . . but they love people more.

I read somewhere that dogs tend to attach to usually one significant person as their alpha. That's why it is not recommended to buy two puppies at once because the dogs will attach to each other versus the dog owner.

because if you give her the food then she is going to go to you and beg for it so if you have you sibling give it to the dog one night then you the next night then the dog should leave you alone and if you go out side and tire the dog out by makeing it run because you know goldys they love to run and get there energy out the also might leave you alone so try that..

this is a problem because? maybe the dog just wants to be around you...instead of being confused about it be happy that she is finally getting over the whole begging thing

2. Your significant other sent her out to you, and she listened. (shock)
3. She thought you may have something more interesting to eat.
