Btw, don't give me any Bible quotes that say that smart people are stupid in the eyes of God. The writers of the Bible put that one there as a safeguard so that followers could fall back on it when everyone smarter than them wasn't a part of their religion.

Well, atheist apply logic and reason to their beliefs rather than faith. Faith is a tool that is used when facts and proof is out of reach. Therefore, it is assumed that atheist are smarted because they use logic and analyze things before believing in them blindly. However, as an agnostic, I believe we are the smarted of the two. We are smart enough not to believe in anything so dogmatically. There is no way to prove that some supernatural being doesn't exist beyond our comprehension. It is beyond our comprehension right? How would we know about it? Now the Christian God, the defined God doesn't exist because it is given contrasting human traits, impossible.

I don't believe, and neither does God,that atheists,or as you say, smart people are stupid. Misguided and deceived would be a better description. And it is pretty arrogant of you or anyone else thinking that you are smarter than religious people just because we have different beliefs, but say what you will, because one day you'll find out that your I.Q. alone isn't going to do you much good, and you will remember each and every time you ever thought, wrote or said anything derogatory against God and His people, and you will deeply regret it,but it will be too late. May God have mercy on your soul.

You would be hard pressed to prove that point, but people that seek intellectual enlightenment tend to be leave only in what that can see and touch. I have yet to see or touch god. So the more intelligent some one is the less likely they are to be religious.

i would say in some instances yes they are less intelligent due to their nature of rejecting many views that does not follow their beliefs...being open minded allows a person to grasp many views of the world and allow them to remain objective...so yes religion can cause ignorance....
